Where they were stuck.
boAt was running a heavily customised Shopify theme that loaded in 7.2 seconds on mobile. Product pages had no social proof structure above the fold and the add to cart flow had three unnecessary steps before reaching checkout. Mobile bounce rate was sitting at 74% and cart abandonment was above 80%.
What we did about it.
We rebuilt the storefront on a lean custom Shopify theme with zero third party app bloat. Product pages were redesigned with review highlights and star ratings above the fold, variant comparison tables and a sticky add to cart bar visible throughout scrolling. Checkout was reduced to a single page with autofill enabled, trust badges at every drop off point and a progress indicator that reduced anxiety at payment.
What changed.
Page load time dropped from 7.2 seconds to 1.8 seconds on mobile. Conversion rate went from 1.1% to 2.7%. Mobile bounce rate fell from 74% to 41%. Revenue per visitor increased 2.4x across the 60 days post launch and cart abandonment dropped to 61%.
